A proposal is not in force. If adopted, it becomes an AD, usually with changes. Only the Federal Register edition is official.

Summary

This document revises an earlier proposed airworthiness directive (AD), applicable to certain Aerospatiale Model ATR72 series airplanes, that would have required initial and repetitive inspections to detect fatigue cracking in certain areas of the fuselage, and corrective actions, if necessary. That proposal was prompted by issuance of mandatory continuing airworthiness information by a foreign civil airworthiness authority. This new action revises the proposed rule by correcting an omission of the compliance time for accomplishment of the initial inspection for certain airplanes. The actions specified by this new proposed AD are intended to prevent fatigue cracking of the fuselage and the passenger and service doors, which could result in reduced structural integrity of the airplane.
