Introduction:
The purpose of this Special Airworthiness Informati on Bulletin is to advise owners/operators of the Dornier Model 228 airplanes of the need to review the service information listed below.
Background:
The Small Airplane Directorate, Aircraft Ce rtification Service, of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) conducted a review of sp ecified Dornier Model 228 airplane service bulletins. The purpose of the review was to ev aluate each service bulletin to determine the continued airworthiness safety aspect. The op tions considered by the FAA included; mandated compliance by initiation of an FAA Airworthiness Di rective (AD), various forms of notices, or no further action required.
Owners/operators of Dornier Model 228 airplanes should also note that there have been Airworthiness Directives issued against these airplanes concerning other safety issues.
Recommendations:
The service information identified in this documen t is not considered appropriate for AD action at this time, however, the FAA strongly suggests that all owners/operators of the Dornier Model 228 airplanes review their compliance with the service information listed below.
