AIRCRAFT CERTIFICATION SERVICE 800 INDEPENDENCE AVENUE, S.W.

WASHINGTON, DC 20591

U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration

No. ACE-99-08 November 18, 1998

Published by: FAA, AFS-610, P.O. Box 26460, Oklahoma City, OK 73125 This is issued for informational purposes only and any recommendation for corrective action is not mandatory.

Introduction The purpose of this Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin is to advise owners/operators of SOCATA TB series airplanes of the need to review the service bulletins listed below.

Background The Small Airplane Directorate, Aircraft Certification Se rvice, of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) conducted a review of specified SOCATA TB series airplanes service bulletins. The purpos e of the review was to evaluate each service bulletin to determine the continued airworthiness safety aspect. The options considered by the FAA included:

mandated compliance by initiation of an FAA Airworthiness Directive (AD), various forms of notices, or no further action required.

Owners/operators of SOCATA TB series airplanes should also note that there have been Airworthiness Directives issued against these airplanes concerning other safety issues.

Recommendations The service bulletins identified in this document were not considered appropriate for AD action at this time, however, the FAA strongly suggests that all owners/operators of the SOCATA TB series airplanes review their compliance with the service bulletins listed below.
