Introduction

This Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin informs owners and operators of Britten Norman BN2, BN2B, BN2T (Islander) series aircraft, that B-N Group Ltd. has issued a mandatory service bulletin (SB) 292, issue 1 to insure the correct installation of retainer on elevator trim tab lever bolt.

Background

During routine maintenance, mechanics discovered the incorrect installation of the elevator trim tab connecting bolt retainer hardware. This condition may permit the elevator trim tab connecting bolt to disconnect from the control rod and elevator trim tab lever.
