PROP SYNC SWITCH SHORTED CAUSING ELECTRICAL SMOKE IN COCKPIT. PULLED PROP SYNC CIRCUIT BREAKER AND SMOKE CLEARED. PROP SYNC SYSTEM DEACTIVATED AND DEFERRED PER MEL 61-1 PENDING RECEIPT OF SWITCH. REPLACED SWITCH AND TESTED SYSTEM. NO DISCREPANCIES NOTED. (M)
