AIRCRAFT WAS NOT GROUNDED: R1 DOOR SLIDE REMOVED FOR TIME CHANGE AND MAINTENANCE REPORTED THAT THE NEW SLIDE FROM STOCK REJECTED. MAINTENANCE REINSTALLED THE ORIGINAL SLIDE AND ROUTED THE REJECTED SLIDE TO BE SENT OUT FOR REPAIR.
