AIRCRAFT WAS NOT GROUNDED: SMOKE: LAVATORY SMOKE ECAM MESSAGE DISPLAYED IN FLIGHT. FLIGHT ATTENDANTS CONFIRMED CABIN INDICATION FOR SMOKE IN LAVATORY E WHICH WAS VACANT AT THE TIME AND NO INDICATIONS OF ACTUAL SMOKE OR FIRE IN THAT LAVATORY. MAINTENANCE ACCOMPLISHED OPERATIONAL TEST OF THE LAVATORY SMOKE-DETECTION SYSTEM WITH NO ISSUES NOTED AND THE FAULT CLEARED.
