AIRCRAFT WAS NOT GROUNDED: FLIGHT DECK DOOR ONLY OPENS WHEN HANDLE IS TURNED LEFT. TURNING HANDLE RIGHT DOES NOT DISENGAGE TOP LOCKING MECHANISM. MAINTENANCE LUBRICATED LATCH ASSEMBLY AND ACCOMPLISHED A SATIDFACTORY OPERATIONAL CHECK PER AMM 52-51-00.
