IN CRUISE FLIGHT, THE T/R CHIP/HOT CAUTION LIGHT CAME ON, PILOT FOLLOWED EMERGENCY CHECK LIST AND LANDED. THE MECHANIC CLEANED AND INSPECTED THE CHIP PLUG AND COMPLIED WITH PENALTY RUN IAW MM AND AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE. (K)
