FLIGHT 2642 - EWR - CREW REPORTED SPS ADVANCE MESSAGE ON EICAS IN CRUISE. CREW PERFORMED AIR RETURN AND LANDED UNEVENTFULLY. EWR MX REMOVED AND REPLACED STALL PROTECTION COMPUTER AND PERFORMED OPERATIONAL CHECK SUCCESSFULLY. AIRCRAFT WAS APPROVED TO RETURN TO SERVICE.
