FLIGHT 2488 - EWR - FLIGHT CREW REPORTED PFD DIM/BRT CONTROL INTERMITTENT BRIGHT/DIM, PRODUCING ELECTRICAL ODOR. EWR MX REMOVED AND REPLACED BRIGHT/DIM POTENTIOMETER AND PERFORMED OPERATIONAL CHECK SUCCESSFULLY. ACFT WAS APPROVED TO RETURN TO SERVICE.
