(CAN) ON APPROACH, PILOT REPORTED, RUDDER STICKS AND SUDDENLY RELEASES WHEN PRESSURE APPLIED, PARTICULARLY LEFT RUDDER. MAINTENANCE REPLACED THE RFTU, WHICH IS PRE-MOD -1007 AND INSPECTED THE RUDDER CABLE RUNS.
