DURING FLIGHT, SMOKE AND ODOR WAS NOTED ALONG WITH WARM SIDEWALL PANEL AT SEAT 18A. ACFT DIVERTED. MAINTENANCE FOUND AFT OVERWING EXIT DOOR HEATER BLANKET SHORTED. BLANKET WAS REPLACED, OPS TEST OK, AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO SERVICE.
