WHEN STOWING STBY COMPASS INSTRUMENT ARCED ACCOMPANIED BY A TRACE OF SMOKE AND ELECTRICAL SMELL. FOUND WIRES IN IGNITION SWITCH FOR NR 1 ENGINE BURNED AND MAKING CONTACT WITH STANDBY COMPASS. REPAIRED ALL WIRES, OPS CHECK NORMAL.
