MAJOR REPAIR - DURING SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE THE NR 8 STRINGER WAS FOUND CRACKED ON THE LOWER WING SKIN JUST INBOARD OF RIB NR 5 AT APPROXIMATELY WS 1380. APPROXIMATE CRACK LENGTH 2 INCHES. MAINTENANCE INSTALLED SPLICE. RII INSPECTION COMPLIED PER TASKCARD 8.2.1.
