COWL OPENED AFTER TAKEOFF. PILOT STATED THAT HE LATCHED THE COWL, BUT THERE IS NO WAY TO VISUALLY CONFIRM THAT THE LATCHES WERE CONNECTED. COWL WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED BY BUFFETING.
