What was found

WILLIAMS INTERNATIONAL PRODUCT SUPPORT, THE ENGINE OEM, ADVISED THE REPAIR STATION THAT THE CUSTOMER HAD REPORTED HIGH ENGINE VIBRATIONS AROUND 85% N2. AN AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER PERFORMED A VIBRATION SURVEY AND CONFIRMED HIGH N1 VIBRATIONS. A SUBSEQUENT BORESCOPE INSPECTION FOUND DAMAGE TO THE HPC ROTOR AND THE AFT SIDE OF THE 3RD STAGE IP STATOR. W.I. PRODUCT SUPPORT THEN DIRECTED THE SERVICE CENTER TO REMOVE THE ENGINE AND RETURN IT TO OUR REPAIR STATION FOR DISASSEMBLY AND INVESTIGATION. THE REPAIR STATION COMPLETED DISASSEMBLY OF THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE IPC ROTOR. THE IPC ROTOR WAS CONFIRMED TO HAVE A LIBERATED 3RD STAGE BLADE.
