Description of Type Design Change: Modification of a Collins ALT-50A or ALT-55B Radio Altimeter system installation to a Collins ALT-1000 or ALT-4000 Radio Altimeter system installation in accordance with Collins Drawing Index as listed on AML No. SA01306WI-D, Revision -, or later FAA approved revision.

Limitations and Conditions: (1) Prior FAA approved installation of a Collins ALT-50A part numbers 622-3201-001/-002/-011 or ALT-55B part numbers 622-2855-001/-002/-011/-012 is a prerequisite to this STC.

(2) For aircraft installations utilizing two radio altimeters, both radio altimeters must be replaced; Intermixing of new radio altimeters with legacy radio altimeters is not approved. (3) Approval of this change in type design applies to the above model aircraft only. (4) Compatibility of this design change with previously approved modifications must be determined by the installer. (5) A copy of this Certificate and FAA Approved Model List (AML) No. SA01306WI-D issued February 7, 2005, or later FAA approved revision, must be maintained as part of the permanent records for the modified aircraft. (6) If the holder agrees to permit another person to use this certificate to alter the product, the holder shall give the other person written evidence of that permission.
