Description of the Type Design Change: Fabrication of AeroAcoustics Aircraft Systems (AASI) Aircraft Payload Extender short field landing performance (APE STOL) system in accordance with AASI Master Drawing List No.

AA2230, Revision NC, dated March 15, 2011, or later Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved revision;

and installation of APE STOL system in accordance with AASI Installation Manual No. AA2231, Revision B, dated December 27, 2011, or later FAA-approved revision.

Limitations and Conditions: Approval of this change in type design applies to the above model aircraft only.

This approval should not be extended to other aircraft of this model on which other previously approved modifications are incorporated unless it is determined by the installer, that the relationship between this change and any other previously approved modifications, including changes in type design, will introduce no adverse effect upon the airworthiness of that aircraft.

This installation must be maintained in accordance with Section 3.0 of AASI Installation and Maintenance Manual No. AA2231, Revision B, dated December 27, 2011, or later FAA-approved revision of this document.

Applicability:

This modification is only applicable to the following ai rcraft equipped with Micro Aerodynamics Vortex Generator System Takeoff Weight Increase in accordance with STC No. SA5131NM and AeroAcoustics Aircraft Systems, Inc. Aircraft Payload Extender XL System in accordance with STC No. SA01763SE.

Model Serial Numbers 402C 402C0001 and On Operating Limitations:

Weight limits: For Maximum Weight for Flight into known icing conditions refer to basic Cessna Approved AFM or Supplement.

For Flight in Known Icing: Refer to the basic Ce ssna approved AFM or Supplement for Limitations and Procedures for Flight in Known Icing.

Use of the Short Field Landing procedures is not approv ed for flight in known icing conditions. Use Normal Procedures.

Required Flight Manual Supplement: Cessna 402C Aircraft Document No. AFMS-C402C-2 dated January 11, 2012, or later FAA-approved revision.

A copy of this certificate and appropriate FAA-approved Flight Manual Supplement, or later FAA-approved revision, must be maintained as part of the permanent records for the modified aircraft.

If the holder agrees to permit another person to use this certificate to alter the product, the holder shall give the other person written evidence of that permission.
