Liberty XL-2 A00008DE Installation of a S-Tec System 30 Autopilot in accordance with the following:

Option 1 (for use with S-Tec Model ST-901 GPS Steering Converter Unit): Chippewa Aerospace Master Data List (MDL) No. XL2-2210-01-0001, Revision 4, dated November 20, 2008, or later FAA approved revision, or Option 2 (for use with Aspen EFD1000 Primary Flight Display (PFD) navigation data input):

Liberty Drawing Tree 135A-900-040, Revision A, dated May 28, 2010, or later FAA approved revision.

Limitations and Conditions continuation:

Option 1 requires the following:

a. FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual Supplement (AFMS) for the S-Tec System 30 Autopilot System in the Liberty XL-2 Series Aircraft, Chippewa Aerospace Document No.

XL2-2210-01-1012, Rev. 1, Dated December 29, 2008, or later FAA approved revision, is a required part of this STC, and

b. Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA), Chippewa Aerospace Inc. Document No. # XL2-2210-01-0002, Rev IR, dated June 18, 2007, or later FAA accepted revision must be made available to the operator at the time of installation.

Option 2 requires the following:

a. Installation of Aspen STC SA10822SC is a pre-requisite for this Option 2 autopilot installation, and

b. FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual Supplement (AFMS) for the S-Tec System 30 Autopilot Integrated with an Aspen EFD1000 PFD/MFD, no revision, dated July 19, 2010, or later FAA approved revision, is a required part of this STC, and

c. Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA), Liberty Aerospace Document No.

135A-970-110, Rev D, dated July 19, 2010, or later FAA accepted revision, must be made available to the operator at the time of installation.

FAA 8110-2 (10/24) Page ___ of ___ SA03488AT This approval should not be extended to other aircraft of this model on which other previously approved modifications are incorporated, unless it is determined by the installer that the interrelationship between this change and any other previously approved modifications will produce no adverse effect upon the airworthiness of that airplane. If the holder agrees to permit another person to use this certificate to alter the product, the holder shall give the other person written evidence of that permission.

Certification Basis:

Based on 14 CFR §§ 21.115 and 21.101, and the FAA policy for significant changes in FAA Order 8110.48, the certification basis for the Liberty XL-2 aircraft is as follows:

a. The type certification basis for Liberty XL-2 airplane is shown on TCDS A00008DE for parts not changed or not affected by the change.

b. The certification basis for parts changed or affected by the change since the reference date of application, September 17, 2008, is based upon part 23 as amended by Amendment 23-58.

Based on 14 CFR §§ 21.115 and 21.101, and the FAA policy for significant changes in FAA Order 8110.48, the certification basis for this modification was determined to be:
