For these Model 550 airplanes, additional FAA engineering approval is required for actual installation and operation of the KY-58 secure voice equipment.

5. The certification basis was established as follows (continued):

Model 560 (s/n 560-0260 and On) (continued):

For Honeywell Primus 1000 Electronic Flight Instrument Systems only, compliance has been shown with the following regulations:

• FAR 25.1301, 25.1303(b); 25.1322 as amended by Amendments through 25-38;

• FAR 25.1309, 25.1321(a), (b), (d) and (e), 25.1331, 25.1333, 25.1335 as amended by Amendments through 25-41.

• The following regulations apply to regulations apply to electronic circuits and other provisions that interface the airplane with installation of the Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) up to the point of isolation from basic airplane systems:

Federal Aviation Regulations §§25.1309, 25.1322, 25.1351, 25.1353, and 25.1381 as amended by Amendment 25-83.

See TCDS A22CE for Equivalent Level of Safety Items and other information not included here.

6. This FAA STC only established that Part 25 requirements were met with Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) operating.

The FAA certification did not establish that the modifications met Government performance specifications, reliability and maintainability requirements, or that the modifications are operationally suitable for the Government specified missions. As the GFE designs are not open for normal FAA review, the FAA certification did not establish that failures with the GFE (i.e. beyond the point of isolation) will or will not have an effect upon the FAA normally certified non-GFE equipment. Installation and operation of the installed GFE was approved in the Transport category as noted above (installed, fully functional, non-interfering).

7. Unless specifically authorized by the FAA, the modifications approved by this STC must be accomplished by Cessna Aircraft Company under their production authorization PC-4.
