Installation of the Bendix/King KLN 90A Global Positioning Systems (GPS).
REQUIRED DATA: 1. For KLN 90 only, Master Drawing List 155-09633-0001, Rev. 1, dated 8-19-92; 2. for KLN 90A only, Master Drawing List 155-09633-0001, Rev. 1, dated 9-16-93; 3. for KLN 90A only, Airplane Flight Manual Supplement 006-00817-0000, Rev. 0, dated 9-17-93. Later FAA approved revisions to the above listed data are incorporated without further revision to this Supplemental Type Certificate.
1. This approval should not be extended to other specific airpl anes of this model on which other previously approved modifications are incorporated, unless it is determined that the interrelationship between this change and any of those previously approved modifications will introduce no adverse effect upon the airworthiness of that airplane.
2. The KLN 90 GPS is limited to u se for visual flight rules operation only. A placard located on the instrument panel and stating “GPS not approved for IFR” is required. This limitation does not apply to the KLN 90A GPS.
3. The KLN 90 and KLN 90A GPS have been evaluated as a navigation input source for the KFC 150, KFC 325 and KFC 400 Series Automatic Flight Control Systems and found to be compatible; the interface of these systems is approved.
4. Additional equipment required for the specific type of operation must be installed and operational prior to use of the KLN 90A under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR).
If the holder agrees to permit another person to use this certificate to alter the product, the holder shall give the other person written evidence of that permission.
