DC-8-62 Description of Type Design Change: Rework of Inertial Navigati on System to install a dual Model LTN72R INS System. INS System installation wa s done according to United Air Lines DAS-1-WE Approved Drawing List No. 2703 dated July 11, 1985, or later FAA approved revisions, and United Air Lines AFM Supplement to FAA Approved Flight Manual DAC-33162 dated June 27, 1985, or later FAA approved revisions.

Limitations and Conditions: This approval should not extended to other specific airplanes of this model on which other previously approved modifications are incorporated unless it is determined by the installer that the interrelationship between th is change and any of those other previously approved modifications will introduce no adverse e ffect upon the airworthine ss of that airplane.

The area navigation feature of the LTN-72R INS System is not operational. Refer to AFM Supplement for further limitations. If the holder agrees to permit another person to use this certificate to alter the product, the holder shall give the other person written evidence of that permission.

This certificate and the supporting data, which is the basis for approval, shall remain in effect until surrendered, suspended, revoked or a termination date is otherwise established by the Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration.
