Description of the Type Design Change: Installation of retractable tip floats in accordance with STC SA4-682 revised April 13, 1961, and rudder aerodynamic balance in accordance with MPD Drawing 4003m “B” change for operation at a maximum gross weight of 9200#.

The following is also required:

1. Main landing gear tires to be 30 x 7 8-ply rating Type II at 90 psi, or 32 x 8 8-ply rating Type II at 90 psi.

2. Tail wheel tires to be 12.50 Type I sm ooth contour 8-ply rating at 80 psi.

3. The pressure in the tail wheel strut oleo is to be 1000 ps i. It must be determined that the tail wheel support tube Grumman P/N 12654 has a wall thickness of .084.

Limitations and Conditions: Approval of this change in type design applies to the above model aircraft only. This approval should not be extended to other aircraft of these models on which other previously approved modifications are incorporated unless it is determined that the relationship between this change and any other previously approved modifications, including changes in type design, will introduce no adverse effect upon the airworthiness of that aircraft. A copy of this Certificate must be maintained as part of the permanent records for the modified aircraft.

If the holder agrees to permit another person to use this certificate to alter the product, the holder shall give the other person written evidence of that permission.
