LOCKHEED L-1011-385-1, L-1011-385-1-14, L-1011-385-1-15, L-1011-385-3 Description of Type Design Change Reinforcement of the Inertial Navigation System (INS) battery rack and installation of heavier batteries in accordance with Lockheed Aircraft Service Company drawing B43504001, Rev. N/C, dated May 13, 1992, or later FAA approved revisions.
Limitations and Conditions: The approval of this change in type design applied basically to Lockheed TriStar Models L-1011-385-1, -385-1-14, -385-1-15, and –385-3. This approval should not be extended to other aircraft of this model on which other previously approved modifications are incorporated unless it is determined by the installer that the interrelationship between this change and any of those other previously approved modifications will introduce no adverse effect upon the airworthiness of the aircraft. This determination should include consideration of significant changes in weight distribution such as an increase in the fixed disposable weight in the fuselage.
