Alteration to replace the standard anticollision light with Grimes Series 550 single anticollision Red or White Strobe Kit P/N 34- 0001-1 or 34-0001-2 in accordance with Grimes Manufacturing Company Specification Sheets P/N 34-0001-1, -2, -3, and -4, dated January 7, 1972, revised March 7, 1978, or later FAA approved revision.

1) Install following placard or other FAA Approved equivalent:

“CAUTION TURN OFF STROBE LIGHT WHEN TAXIING NEAR OTHER AIRCRAFT OR WHEN FLYING IN FOG OR CLOUDS. STANDARD POSITION LIGHTS MUST BE USED FOR ALL NIGHT OPERATIONS.”

2. This approval applies only to replacement of lights installed as part of FAA approved original type design.

3. Minimum required operating voltage is:

12.6 volts on 14 VDC systems using power supplies P/N’s 60-1431-1, or 60-1473-1

24 volts on 28 VDC systems using power supplies P/N’s 60-1431-3, or 60-1473

12.6 volts on either 14 or 28 VDC system using power supply P/N 60-2927-1.

4. The P/N 60-1431-1 or -3 Power Supplies may be used in place of 60-1473- or -3 Power Supplies, respectively, or Power Supply 60-2927-1 , may be used in place of any of the above power supplies, in order to provide for an additional Grimes anticollision strobe light. The preceding is a statement of compatibility of power supplies only. This STC does not approve the installation of additional anticollision lights.

5. The combination of the Power Supplies listed in limitation 4 with light P/N 30-0504-1 or -3 which have been manufactured under FAA-PMA meets the requirements of FAR 23.1401 (b), (c) and (d) when the minimum operating voltage requirements have been met. P/N 30-0504-3 (Red) meets FAR 23.1401 (f) prior to 8/11/71. P/N 30-0504-1 (White) meets FAR 23.1401 (f) effective 8/11/71.

6. The approval of this change in type design applies basically to the aircraft listed on the Eligibility List. This approval should not be extended to other aircraft of these models on which other previously approved modifications are incorporated unless it is determined by the installer that the interrelationship between this change and any of those other previously approved modifications will introduce no adverse effect upon the airworthiness of that aircraft.

7. If the holder agrees to permit another person to use this certificate to alter the product, the holder shall give the other person written evidence of that permission.
