Description of Type Design Change: Replace the Balony Kubicek Basket/Burner system and fuel tanks with the FireFly (Balloon Works) Basket Model 5.0, S/N 6118; the FireFly (Balloon Works) Burner Model F-1 (S/N 588 and 2117) and Model T3-017 (S/N 2506J); and FireFly (Balloon Works) fuel tanks, P/N 3035L (S/Ns 48077J, 48303J, 46678J and 43064J) and P/N 3229 (S/Ns 00121210J and 00121208J). The Balloonworks (FireFly) Basket/Burner is installed via the standard Balony Kubicek carabiner (snaplink) attachments as specified in the FAA Approved Balloon Flight Manual Supplement dated January xx, 2016.
1. FAA Approved Balloon Flight Manual Supplement dated February 18, 2016, is required. 2. This modified balloon is to be maintained in accordance with the latest revision of the Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) from Balony Kubicek (Envelope) and FireFly (Balloon Works) (Basket, Burner, Fuel Tanks) 3. You cannot use descriptive data about this design change to duplicate other products. This approval is limited to only the installation made in Balony Kubicek Model BB34Z, Serial No. 1096.
This STC does not permit manufacturing of parts for multiple installations
