Description of Type Design Change: Conversion of the engine from a carburetor fuel system and magneto ignition system to a full authority digital electronic control (FADEC) system for fuel injection and ignition.

Conversion to be accomplished in accordance with the installation instructions contained in Continental Motors Form FIM-LYC, entitled “Continued Airworthiness Instructions for Converting a 180 hp Lycoming O-360 Four–Cylinder Aircraft Engine to a FADEC Engine”, revision “N/C”, dated July 2001, or later FAA approved revision.

Limitations and Conditions: 1). Engine conversion is subject to the requirements noted on the continuation sheet (see page 2). 2). This approval should not be extended to other engines of this model on which other previously approved modifications are incorporated, unless it is determined by the installer that the interrelationship between this change and any other previously approved modification will produce no adverse effect upon the airworthiness of that engine. 3). If the holder agrees to permit another person to use this certificate to alter the product, the holder shall give the other person written evidence of that permission.
