Description of Type Design Change: Conversion of Teledyne Continental Motors (TCM) models IO- 520-B, -BA, -BB to RAM model IO-550-B-RA engine, or conversion of TCM models IO-520-C, -CB to RAM model IO-550-C-RA engine in accordance with RAM Master Drawing List 2691, Revision C dated August 20, 2012, or later FAA approved revision.
Limitations and Conditions: The RAM model IO-550-B-RA engine is identical to and has the same ratings, limitations, and installation interfaces as TCM model IO-550-B engine. The RAM model IO-550-C-RA is identical to and has the same ratings, limitations, and installation interfaces as TCM model IO-550-C engine. The Instructions for Continued Airworthiness are contained in RAM Document number 2692, Revision A dated August 20, 2012, or later FAA approved revision.

This approval should not be extended to other engines of these models on which other previously approved modifications are incorporated unless it is determined by the installer that the interrelationship between this change and any other previously approved modifications will produce no adverse affect on the airworthiness of that engine or aircraft. If the holder agrees to permit another person to use this certificate to alter the product, the holder shall give the other person written evidence of that permission.
