• 11. del R-1340 Lescriplen JypeJign thange: Replacement of type design P&h Part Number (PIN) 11768 in R-1340 engine with Precision Aero-Parts, Inc. Part Number R-1768. The replacement P/N R-1768 is manufactured by Precision Aero-Parts, Inc. in accordance with its Drawing Number R-1768 Sheets 1 through 5 and Processing Description for Precision-Aero Parts, Inc. Cam Ring, dated September 13, 1984, or later FAA approved revisions thereof.

Approval of this replacement of the type design part applies Jimilans andfundilun. basically to all P&w Model R-1340 engines having Cam Ring P/N 11768. This approval should not be extended to any R-1340 Series engine on which other previously approved modifications are incorporated unless it is determined that the interrelationship between this change and any of those other previously approved modifications, including change in type design will introduce no adverse effect upon the airworthiness of that engine. A copy of this Certificate and Addendum No. SE2658NM shall be maintained as part of the permanent records of the engine in which a R-1768 Cam Ring is installed.

The replacement part is made from different material, periorms the same function and fits in the sanc envelope as the original type designed part. Also, the replacement part has no eitect on the engine performance or the engine installation in an aircraft. Therefore, the engine installations incorporating Precision Aero-Parts Inc. P/N R-1768, require no aircraft supplemental type certification data.
