Master Drawing and Document List PHI-407-DL-0014, revision 2, dated 17 December 2015, or later FAA approved revision.

1. This STC is limited to Bell 407 helicopters in the serial numbers range of 53000 to 54299. Serial numbers 54300 and subsequent (407GX commercial designation) are ineligible.

2. Operation must be in accordance with Rotorcraft Flight Manual Supplement (RFMS), document number PHI-959-407-HTAWS-002, revision 0, dated 16 December 2015, or later FAA approved revision. The RFMS must be carried in the aircraft during all flights.

3. Maintenance is to be performed in accordance with Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA), document number PHI-407-ICA-0011, revision 7, dated 11 November 2015, or later FAA accepted revision. The ICA must be made available to the operator at the time of installation.

4. The installer must determine that the interrelationship between this installation and any previously approved modifications will not introduce any adverse effect upon the airworthiness of the aircraft.

5. If the holder agrees to permit another person to use this certificate to alter a product, the holder must give the other person written evidence of that permission.

Certification Basis:

Based on 14 CFR §§ 21.115 and 21.101, and the FAA policy for significant changes in FAA Order 8110.48, the certification basis for the installation of the Sandel Avionics ST3400H HTAWS in a Bell 407 aircraft is as follows:

a. The type certification basis for the Bell 407 aircraft is shown in TCDS H2SW for parts not changed or not affected by the change.

b. The certification basis for parts changed or affected by the change since the reference date of application, 07 July 2015, is based upon Part 27 as amended by Amendment 27-47. Based on 14 CFR §§ 21.115 and 21.101, and the FAA policy for significant changes in FAA Order 8110.48, the certification basis for this modification was determined to be:
