Description of Type Design Change: Installation of Garmin Model 400W/500W Series Navigators including Helicopter Terrain Awareness and Warning System (HTAWS) functionality in accordance with Garmin Master Drawing List (MDL), 005-00610-02, Rev. 2, dated June 18, 2015, or later FAA approved revision. The Master Drawing List establishes the approved configuration for each model listed above. The applicable FAA approved Rotorcraft Flight Manual Supplements and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness are identified in the Master Drawing List by model.

Limitations and Conditions: Approval of this change in type design applies to the above model rotorcraft only.

This approval should not be extended to other rotorcraft of this model series unless the installer determines that the relationship between this change and any other previously incorporated approved modifications will introduce no adverse effect upon the airworthiness of that rotorcraft.

A copy of: 1) this certificate; 2) the applicable RFMS as listed in the FAA approved MDL; 3) the applicable Instructions for Airworthiness as listed in the FAA approved MDL, must be maintained as part of the permanent records for the modified rotorcraft.

If the holder agrees to permit another person to use this certificate to alter the product, the holder shall give the other person written evidence of that permission.
