1. Installation of Honeywell HTS900-2-1D Engine in accordance with Eagle Copters Ltd. Installation Instructions IIN-E407-789-1, Revision B, dated October 8, 2014, or later TCCA approved revision.

2. Operation of the aircraft with the Honeywell HTS900-2-1D Engine installed must be in accordance with TCCA approved Eagle Copters Ltd. Rotorcraft Flight Manual Supplement (RFMS) FMS-E407-789-1, Revision 0, dated November 10, 2014, TCCA approved December 9, 2014, or later TCCA approved revision.

1. This installation is limited to the following serial numbers of the Bell 407: 53000-53138, 53140-53279, 53281-53470, 53472-53900, 53911-54299.

2. Maintenance of the aircraft and the Honeywell HTS900-2-1D Engine must be in accordance with Eagle Copters Ltd.

Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) ICA-E407-789, Revision 0, dated August 29, 2014, or later TCCA accepted revision. The ICA includes modifications to the Airworthiness Limitations Section of the existing Bell 407 Maintenance Manual which were approved by TCCA on behalf of the FAA.

3. Maintenance of the aircraft and the Honeywell HTS900-2-1D Engine must be in accordance with Eagle Copters Ltd. Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) ICA-E407-789, Revision 0, dated August 29, 2014, or later TCCA accepted revision.

3. Bell Kit 407-706-020 (5250 lb internal gross weight) is a prerequisite for this STC.

4. Honeywell Service Bulletin (SB) HTS900-73-10-0002 is a prerequisite for this STC. Engines with data plate marked PNO/PNR 4-007-000-05 have the design change associated with Service Bulletin HTS900-73-10-0002 incorporated at the time of production.

5. Bell Model 407GX helicopters are not eligible to have this modification installed.

6. The installer must determine whether this design change is compatible with previously approved modifications.

7. If the holder agrees to permit another person to use this certificate to alter a product, the holder must give the other person written evidence of that permission.

Certification Basis:

1. Airworthiness and Environmental Standards for components and areas not affected by the change:

Refer to Basis of Certification for the Bell Helicopter Textron Model 407 as detailed in the FAA Type Certificate Data Sheet H2SW.

2. For components and areas affected by the change:

a. Refer to Basis of Certification for the Bell Helicopter Textron Model 407 as detailed in the FAA Type Certificate Data Sheet H2SW.

b. In addition, an Equivalent Level of Safety as delineated in FAA ELOS Memo #ST7080NY-R-P-01, dated November 12, 2014, was found for the freewheeling unit as part of the Honeywell HTS900-2-1D engine for the following CFRs and associated amendments: 27.917 (27-11), 27.923 (27-29), 27.927 (27-23), and 27.571 (27-26).

c. In addition, compliance was demonstrated for CFR 27.1195 at amendment 27-5.
