Original Product Type Certificate Number : A16WE Make : Boeing Model : 737-400
Installation of Goodrich Fire Detection and Suppression system (Class “C”) in accordance with Goodrich Master Drawing List T3078-MDL-2002, Revision C, dated September 15, 2006, or later FAA-approved revision.
1. This installation is only applicable on 737-400 aircraft modified to a “Combi” freighter and passenger configuration in accordance with Pemco STC number ST03387AT.
2. Goodrich Airplane Flight Manual Supplement T3078-0006-0151, Revision D, dated January 30, 2007, or later FAA-approved revision, is a required part of this STC.
3. Instructions for Continued Airworthiness T3078-0005-0151, Revision Init, dated September 20, 2006, or later FAA-approved revision, is also a required part of this STC, and must be incorporated into the operator’s maintenance program.
If the holder agrees to permit another person to use this certificate to alter the product, the holder shall give the other person written evidence of that permission.

This approval should not be extended to other aircraft of this model on which other previously approved modifications are incorporated, unless it is determined by the installer that the interrelationship between this change and any other previously approved modifications will produce no adverse effect upon the airworthiness of that airplane.
Certification Basis:
Based on 14 CFR § § 21.115 and 21.101, and the FAA policy for significant changes in FAA Order 8110.48, the certification basis for the Boeing Model 737-400 series passenger to Combi is as follows:
a. The type certification basis for Boeing Model 737-400 airplanes is shown on TCDS A16WE for parts not changed or not affected by the change.
b. The certification basis for parts changed or affected by the change since the reference date of application, July 10, 2004, is based upon part 25 as amended by amendment 25-117. Based on 14 CFR § § 21.115 and 21.101, and the FAA policy for significant changes in FAA Orde r 8110.48, the certification basis for this modification was determined to be:
