Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) document 218230-ICA, Rev B, dated March 23, 2020 or later FAA accepted revision and Airplane Flight Manual Supplement (AFMS) document 218230-FMS, Rev IR, dated May 7, 2019 or later FAA approved revision must be made available to the operator at the time of installation.

Based on 14 CFR 21.115 and 21.101, and the FAA policy for significant changes in FAA Order 8110.48, the certification basis for the Boeing DC-9/MD-83 series aircraft is as follows:

a. The type certification basis for Boeing DC-9 and MD-83 airplane is shown on TCDS A6WE for parts not changed or not affected by the change.

b. The certification basis for parts changed or affected by the change since the reference date of application, July 31, 2018, is based upon part 25 as amended by Amendment 25-145.
