Description of Type Design Change: Installation of a Terminal Data Loader in the left hand forward closet in accordance with American Airlines Master Data List J1267-MDL, Revision New, dated April 5, 2009 or later FAA approved revision and Airplane Flight Manual Supplement, J1267-AFMS, Revision IR, dated April 5, 2009, or later FAA approved revision.

Limitations and Conditions: This approval should not be incorporated in any aircraft of this specific model until compatibility of this modification with previously approved modifications has been determined by the installer. If the holder agrees to permit another person to use this certificate to alter the product, the holder shall give the other person written evidence of that permission.

This certificate and the supporting data, which is the basis for approval, shall remain in effect until surrendered, suspended, revoked or a termination date is otherwise established by the Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration.

The Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Document Number J1267-ICA, Revision C, dated 27 March 2009 or later FAA AEG accepted revision shall be made available to the operator at the time of installation. The aircraft shall be maintained in accordance with the Instructions for Continued Airworthiness.

This modification may not be installed after August 30, 2010 unless (1) previously approved electrical wiring interconnection system (EWIS) instructions for continued airworthiness (ICA) have been evaluated and determined to be adequate for this installation by the FAA, or (2) revised EWIS ICA have been approved by the FAA Oversight Office. (Refer to 14 CFR § 26.11)

Certification Basis:

Based on 14CFR 21.115 and 21.101, and the FAA policy for non-significant changes in FAA Order 8110.48, the certification basis for the Boeing Model 737-800 series aircraft for the change is as follows:

a. The Type Certification basis for Boeing Model 737-800 series airplanes is shown on TCDS A16WE for parts not changed or not affected by the change.

b. The certification basis for parts changed or affected by the change since the reference date of application, February 27, 2009 is based upon Part 25, as amended by Amendment 25-127. Based on 14 CFR 21.115 and 21.101, and the FAA policy for non significant changes in FAA Order 8110.48, the certification basis for this modification was determined to be:
