1. If the holder agrees to permit another person to use this certificate to alter a product, the holder must give the other person written evidence of that permission.

2. The installer must determine whether this design change is compatible with previously approved modifications.

The installation includes the Ka-Radio Frequency Unit installed on the antenna mounting plate. The type design change is for Configurations #1 and #2 as follows:

Configuration #1

1. Installation of Jetwave KA-Band Antenna must be in accordance with Master Data List MDL-B7472-1-5300, Revision G, dated June 12, 2025 or later revisions approved under the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) system.

2. Operation must be in accordance with Airplane Flight Manual Supplement (AFMS) AFMS-B7472-1-5300, Revision A, dated August 3, 2018 or later revisions approved under the EASA system.

3. Maintenance must be in accordance with Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) ICA-B7472-1-5300, Revision B, November 15, 2018 or later revisions approved under the EASA system.

Configuration #2

4. Installation of Jetwave KA-Band Antenna must be in accordance with Master Data List MDL-B7472-2-5300, Revision F, dated June 12, 2025 or later revisions approved under the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) system.

5. Operation must be in accordance with Airplane Flight Manual Supplement (AFMS) AFMS-B7472-2-5300, Revision A, dated August 3, 2018 or later revisions approved under the EASA system.

6. Maintenance must be in accordance with ICA ICA-B7472-2-5300, Revision B, November 15, 2018 or later revisions approved under the EASA system.

3. The aircraft must be operated in accordance with the limitations section of the flight manual supplement referenced in the Description section.

4. The aircraft must be maintained in accordance with the airworthiness limitations section of the ICA referenced in the Description section.

Based on Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) § 21.115 and § 21.101, and the FAA policy for design changes that are identified as not significant in FAA Order 8110.48, the type certification basis for modified Boeing 747-8 is as follows:

a. The type certification basis for the Boeing 747-8 as shown on Type Certificate Data Sheet (TCDS) A20WE for parts not changed or not affected by the change.

b. The type certification basis for the Boeing 747-8 for parts changed or affected by the change is shown on TCDS A20WE.

Equivalent level of safety findings have been made for the following regulations:

25.251(b) - Use of analysis and flight test in lieu of flight test to VDF/MDF documented in Equivalent Level of Safety Memorandum ST20175IB-T-25.251(b)

This modification has been determined to be a no acoustic change in accordance with 14 CFR

21.93(b).
