From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: pilot taxied out to do some local flying. Grumman tiger uses brakes for steering and had wheel pants. Light layer of snow on taxiway and runway. Pilot took off with directional control normal. After flying around for approximately 45 minutes, he returned to airport for touch and gos. On landing airplane seemed under control and then began a gradual turn to the right edge of the runway. Full left rudder and brake were unable to check the turn on hard pack of ice and snow. Aircraft left the runway and stopped in a shallow snow bank. Right wheel brake apparently froze up after snow in wheel well melted from heat developed during taxi out for takeoff. On landing wheel was frozen but rudder was sufficient to hold alignment with runway due to hard pack of ice and snow as aircraft slowed directional control was lost with skidding right wheel.
