From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: the flight departed chicago meigs on an IFR flight plan the destination was middletown, WI. The pilot decided to conduct an approach and land at Janesville Rock co. airport. During the approach the engine "sputtered", the pilot concluded fuel starvation and declared a fuel low emergency to the tower. However, application of carb-ice did resolve the problem and the engine performed normally. No further action is required for this occurrence. Investigation revealed that carb-ice caused the aircraft engine to run rough for a few seconds during the approach to Janesville airport. The aircraft did contain required fuel to conduct the flight as planned.
