From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Lost power on climbout. Landed in deep snow on frozen lake. Ice crystals in fuel caused fuel starvation. (-23) airman departed stp planning a round robin x-country flight to brd & pkd. A touch and go was executed in brd and pkd. On climb out from pkd a loss of power was noticed. The airman applied carburetor heat but the engine continued to lose power. Airman attempted to return to the pkd airport but was unable and landed on a frozen lake approximately 1 mile west of nevis, MN. Both wings were substantially damaged due to the deep snow on the lake. The prop was damaged as well when the plane tipped up on its nose.
