From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: xarls was cleared to hold at rbv at 9,000 feet. The aircraft began a right turn into hold instead of the published left. The controller was busy trying to reestablish xarls into hold, coordinate with adjacent facilities, and issue control instructions. SJ1315 indicated he had a TCAS ra. Xarls had climbed to 9,800 feet and was head-on with SJ1315 at 10,000 feet. The controller questioned xarls to maintain 9,000 feet assigned holding altitude. After TRACON, ewr approach, ewr ATCT and ewr ground spoke to xarls no one ever asked for a name of the company or the pilot. We were unable to locate the pilot or company in 1995 and we are still unable.
