From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: the pilot reported that on 3-26-95 he was enroute from Orlando to key west. During climbout the right engine began running rough, so he shut it down and returned to Orlando. David harmon A&P 2184898 performs regular maintenance on the aircraft. He said the right fuel valve has an internal leak allowing the main tank to drain to the aux. Tank. The pilot had no reason to think the main tank would drain faster than normal. Therefore the engine ran out of gas before he could switch to the aux. Tank. The system does not allow an inflight start with the aux. Tank.
