From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: after an uneventful flight from st. george, Utah to Ogden, Utah the pilot of N3871U made a normal landing on RW34 at Ogden-Hinckley Airport. Shortly after landing the pilot attempted to raise the flaps, but instead positioned the landing gear lever to the up position. After the pilot saw the nose drop and the propeller strike the runway, he shut down the engine. Investigation revealed that the nose gear retracted causing minor damage to the gear linkage and engine cowl. All three blades of the propeller were damaged. The main gear partially retracted, but damage was limited to the gear doors. The pilot was counseled by this inspector. This report is final and closed.
