From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: pilot made a precautionary landing because he thought he felt a roughness in the engine power. By the time he landed everything seemed normal. Maintenance personnel have investigated cause and found no discrepancies and cannot duplicate the problem. This report is a result of a variation in an IFR flight plan. The pilot was on an IFR flight from chicago, IL (mdv) to moline, IL. He felt a roughness in the engine and requested an alternate airport to land. The roughness in the engine had disappeared before landing. Maintenance personnel have been unable to duplicate the problem. No damage to the aircraft.
