What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Inadvertent liftoff on high speed toaxi test. Had trouble aileron rudder control. Hit fence landing. Control damage (-23) the pilot and owner of the home built aircraft was performing a high speed taxi when the aircraft lifted off the runway. The aircraft seemed controllable and the pilot decided to continue the flight. During climb out the aircraft required full right aileron and full right rudder to keep the aircraft level. The pilot continued in the left traffic pattern for runway 36, with better control at reduced power. The pilot had to extend his down wind leg for other traffic on the runway and continued to runway 27. When he added power it made the aircraft roll left and became more uncontrollable. When the pilot felt he could not reach the runway with the reduced power he elected to land the aircraft in a corn field 1/4 mile east of runway 27. The aircraft contacted the ground and went through a fence. The aircraft stopped at approximately 50 ft from the impact point. The aircraft was flown without the canopy. Inspected the aircraft controls for continuity and proper connection. Control travel could not be verified due to damage. No eviden ce was found that indicated any discrepancies.
As the FAA filed it
INADVERTENT LIFTOFF ON HIGH SPEED TOAXI TEST.
