From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: pilot was in the touch and go pattern at the Mead airport using runway 16. On his third landing he reset the flaps and trim, opened the cowl flaps and applied maximum power to take off again when he struck a deer. The pilot aborted the takeoff and was able to turn off at the end of the runway. An observer called the sheriff after hearing the impact and the resulting aborted takeoff. Deputy sheriff michael zollara came out to investigate and took pictures. Propeller cut deer in half on impact.
