From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-16) Due to an alleged loss of oil pressure the pilot attempted a precautionary landing on runway 22 at Luray caverns airport (W45), Luray, Virginia. The approach to landing appears to have been high causing the touch down to be within 250 feet of the departure end of 3,125 feet long, 75 feet wide asphalt runway. The touch down was on both main gear and tail wheel with no evidence of braking by the pilot.
