From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: brakes were cold. Student was performing a short field landing. On short final, ATC requested them to expedite exit off of runway after landing due to jet traffic on final. After touchdown, the student applied heavy braking and did not release them while being advised not to lock up the brakes. The right tire blew as the aircraft slowed below 20 knots. The instructor took controls after informing the tower of the problem and he was able to taxi the aircraft off of the active runway and onto the ramp. This report does not involve a NMAC report. FAA form 8020-11 not received from air traffic. This does not involve a pilot deviation report by air traffic. This report is closed. Counseling to CFI on scenario.
