From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: according to witnesses, PIC of N73MG made low pass over runway in preparation to land. When next the airplane was visible it was seen skidding on runway. The PIC (the principal stockholder of aguilas, inc., and sole occupant) was not injured. PIC stated he became distracted due to sunlight in his eyes and neglected to extend the landing gear. Damage to N73MG consisted of bent prop, belly & gear door skin and trailing edge of flaps. The airplane was lifted off the ground with a crane, the landing gear released & locked into place and the airplane towed to pic's hangar. PIC counseled with regard to usage of airplane checklist.
