From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: N3080F, a BE-300-300, en route from st. george, Utah (sgu), landed on rw 35 , Rexburg, Idaho, at 1455 MDT on 11/21/95. As the pilot applied reverse thrust, the airplane yawed severely to the right. Reverse thrust was de-selected, but the airplane continued off the runway. The left engine struck a small tree causing the airplane to stop. Damage was limited to left engine nacelle, engine mount, propeller (prop), and slight ground strike damage to right engine prop. Investigation indicated that the left engine 2nd stage power turbine failed internally, resulting in immediate loss of left engine reverse and eventually causing the left prop to feather. The resulting asymmetric thrust caused the pilot to lose directional control. The aircraft owner will submit a malfunction and defect report of the FAA. This is a final report.

As the FAA filed it
